2009 SPA Membership Drawing
Job 1 – Advocacy for seaplane access is the number 1 mission of the Seaplane Pilots Association. When negotiating with federal, state, or regional regulators, one of the first questions asked of us is how many seaplane interests do you represent? Size matters.
Your SPA membership helps strengthen our advocacy influence in addition to all your other valuable member benefits.
Exciting New Opportunity to Serve the Cause and Enhance Your Safety
At Oshkosh this year, we kicked off a program that will add fun to our membership drive while underscoring the importance of recurrent training for seaplane pilots. Seaplane Safety Institute, operated by SPA Field Director, Lyle Panepinto, is offering their 3-day Advanced Seaplane Training program to the winner of a December 18, 2009 SPA Membership Drawing. The $2700 course includes advanced flight training in a C185 amphib, in-water survival, and an underwater egress program featuring one of the most sophisticated simulators in the country (see feature story in Nov/Dec ’07 WaterFlying Magazine). Not quite ready for this “graduate level course” in water flying? Lyle says he will custom-design the course to fit the winner’s needs.
All new SPA membership renewals and new applications between July 1 and December 18, 2009 (whether auto-renewal, online, by phone, or in person) will be put in the hat for the drawing. What if you renewed on June 25 or 29th? Not to worry. If you renew again during the July-Dec ’09 period, you will be eligible for the drawing and your membership will be credited with an additional 12 months beyond your current expiration date. You can’t lose!
It’s a “win-win” for you and for SPA! Help maintain our membership strength while providing yourself an opportunity to participate in one of the nation’s most advanced seaplane recurrent training programs.
