New York Times reports on Southern Seaplanes

June 14, 2010

In a June 9th front page story about BP’s attempts to restricted media access to the oil spill area, the New York Times quoted Rhonda Panepinto of Southern Seaplanes about the challenges they have faced.   The article opened with a description of of the denials of permission to fly into the TFR that Southern Seaplanes was experiencing when flying media.

After weeks of pleading, letter writing and phone calls, the FAA interceded and overruled BP’s denials to allow commercial aircraft operators to resume normal busines within the TFR.  See earlier blog posts in this section for more information.
